Laureate Omega

ABOUT US
Our chapter, formed in 2005, is filled with enthusiastic members who have enjoyed many years in sorority contributing to the success of our chapter and to the sorority body as a whole filling numerous leadership positions - many on more than one occasion!
Although small (8 members), we are creative, knowledgeable, and enjoy the camaraderie of others, those transferring from other chapters within Calgary or around the world.
Anyone invited to visit our chapter can be assured of a warm welcome from the members of Laureate Omega who range in age from the young 60’s to the even younger 80’s. “Age”, as we are fond of saying “is NOT a number but an ATTITUDE”- and that attitude towards life, learning and friendship we live to its fullest.
MEETINGS
Laureate Omega meets twice a month in the afternoons on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. The month's first meeting is a Business Meeting and the second is a Program Meeting. Our meetings are held in members’ homes unless the planned program is an outing to a play, garden centre, luncheon, shopping trip, cultural trip or other activity.
SOCIALS
Our chapter also holds socials throughout the year: games nights, winery tours, horse racing, and exploring nearby towns are examples.
SERVICE
Laureate Omega has decided to focus on hands-on Service Projects which will change throughout the year selected and approved by the members of the chapter. Assisting in judging the Canadian Legions’ poetry and poster contest for the Calgary area and working at Operation Christmas Child are two of the scheduled activities for the fall.
